No. 3 Kansas, No. 14 WVU meet on Wednesday

MORGANTOWN,W.Va.–West Virginia is coming off another disappointing road loss to Oklahoma.

The 14th-ranked Mountaineers (18-5, 6-4 Big 12) dropped the 69-59 decision to the Sooners where the team’s offensive struggles continued. WVU attempted more shots (76 to 49) but missed 52 attempts, including several from short range.

Oscar Tshiebwe (11.5 points, 9.1 rebounds) managed to score 12 points but it took him 16 shots to do that. Tshiebwe and Derek Culver (10.8 points, 8.9 rebounds) combined to go 7-for-26.

One thing in the Mountaineers’ favor is they are undefeated at home and the Coliseum should be rocking on Wednesday as they expect a sold-out crowd for the showdown.

The third-ranked Jayhawks (20-3, 9-1) are coming off a 60-46 victory over TCU on Saturday. Udoka Azubuike (13.0 points, 9.7 rebounds) e had nine dunks while going 10 of 14 from the floor. He grabbed 15 rebounds for his 10th double-double of the season. Devon Dotson (18.0 points) went 7-of-17 and dished out a career-high 11 assists.

Kansas has won eight straight and will be a huge challenge in a tough week for WVU.

Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
