In what seems to be a yearly occurrence WVU football has been snubbed in some fashion in the preseason Amway Coaches Poll. While in years past the Mountaineers have at least received votes this year the program seemed to be left completely off the ballot.
To make matters worse schools such as Appalachian State, Marshall, and Northern Illinois have received at least one vote. Even Pitt received 8 votes, let that sink in Mountaineer fans.
With the majority of a potent offensive attack returning including starting QB Skyler Howard, receivers such as Ka’Raun White, Shelton Gibson, and Jovon Durante, not to mention a backfield consisting of the team’s second leading rusher Rushel Shell and newcomer JUCO Offensive Player of the Year Justin Crawford, you would think consideration would be given.
However, just like previous years, WVU and Mountaineer fans alike live for the underdog role. Well the table has been set.
