Quick Hit: JUCO lineman not to enroll; scholarship reallocated

As first reported by WVMetroNews.com and verified Wednesday morning by BGS, JUCO offensive lineman Craig Smith will not be enrolling at WVU this fall. Smith, a 6’7 310 lb tackle from Tyler JC (Texas) had originally committed to South Florida before flipping to WVU, the last verbal commitment from the 2016 class.

The scholarship left vacant by Smith will instead be used on University of Tennessee transfer Ray Raulerson. Raulerson will transfer to WVU as a center and will be eligible to play for the Mountaineers starting in 2017 after sitting out due to NCAA transfer rules. According to Holgorsen Raulerson is expected to replace senior Tyler Orlosky.
