Quick Hit: Mountaineer Larry Ford in the playoffs with Lehigh Valley Steelhawks

It is the time of the season where arena football leagues is entering their playoffs. One Mountaineer has made the playoffs in the AIFL and that is Mountaineer Larry Ford.

Ford is in his fourth season in the indoor league and is currently playing with the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks. Once again, behind Ford and a stout defense, the Steelhawks find themselves on a playoff run.

“Win or go home. Fourth straight year making the playoffs with the Steelhawks. Came up short for three years but this year is going to be different in my eyes,” Ford told us.

On Monday night, the Steelhawks defeated River City 54-52 to advance to the next stage of the playoffs. Ford and the Steelhawks trailed 45-39 at halftime, but Ford and the defense stiffened in the second half, allowing his team to take the lead with 4:09 remaining in the game.

Next up for Ford and Lehigh Valley: the West Michigan Ironmen on Saturday.
