Quick Hit: Tavon Austin named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week

Tavon Austin is at it again.

It’s no secret that the fleet-footed receiver can score multiple ways and the powers that be took notice on Sunday, especially on his 75-yard punt return for a touchdown that earned him NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 1.

The TD came in the third quarter and gave St. Louis a 24-13 lead over Seattle. It was Austin’s third punt return for a score in his career. Pro Football Talk also pointed out that Austin is the first player in NFL history to record punt return TDs of more than 75 yards in each of his first three seasons.
