Quickley, McBride Propel Knicks Past Lakers

LAS VEGAS–Immanuel Quickley scored 25 points and Miles “Deuce” McBride had 22 points as the New York Knicks defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 91-82 on Wednesday night in summer league action.

The former West Virginia University point guard had another good performance on both offense and defense. He was 6-for-6 from beyond the arc and made 7-of-9 from the field.

McBride had seven rebounds, five assists and one steal.

In the first two quarters; the rookie guard had just two points but he heated up after the half.

McBride’s sixth 3-pointer came at a clutch time . As the shot clock was expiring late in the game, he drained the bucket to give New York an 85-80 lead.

McBride made the final two free throws to seal the victory.

Summer league action continues when the Knicks face the Detroit Pistons on Friday at 8 p.m.
