Recruiting quick hit: Two WVU legacies could be looking elsewhere

Lackawanna C.C. defensive back Kyzir White has been verbally committed to the Mountaineers since June of this year and would be following in his brothers’ footsteps if he came to Morgantown. Both Kevin and Ka’Raun came to WVU courtesy of Lackawanna. Continuing that legacy has now become less clear. After an unofficial visit to Penn State, a team that has been relentless in their pursuit of White, the Nittany Lions could be gaining ground on the Mountaineers. White has scheduled an official visit to Penn State in the near future and seems unsure what direction his recruitment may take.

Another WVU target that could be trending in another direction is 2016 Palm Beach Gardens, FL defensive back Devin Studstill. Even though his ties to program are well known (His father Darren Studstill was a QB at WVU), that doesn’t appear to be a factor for him. With Notre Dame in the driver’s seat, it appears that West Virginia will lose out on continuing this WVU legacy.
