Recruiting: WVU After Wake Forest Commit

Sandalwood High School (FL) 2015 defensive tackle Kahlil Welsh committed to Wake Forest back in November, but the 2-star prospect received a phone call from West Virginia safeties coach Joe DeForest.

Welsh, 6-foot-3 and 270 pounds has over 15 offers from the likes of Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Iowa State and South Florida.

West Virginia was dealt a blow when defensive tackle Robert Landers flipped to Ohio State leaving a hole in the class. With Alec Shriner the only tackle on the 2015 class, Welsh is a high priority for the Mountaineers.

Wake Forest is hanging on to Welsh, but he says a visit to Morgantown is likely.
