Reports indicate that West Virginia is adding a new member to the football team.
Freshmen linebacker Michael Ferns is leaving Michigan and will now transfer to WVU. Ferns asked for and was granted his release from the Michigan program according to the Detroit Free Press. Rated a 4 star inside linebacker out of Saint Clairsville, OH, Michael chose Michigan over offers from Alabama, Ohio State, and West Virginia just to name a few.
Ferns, 6-3 and 239-pounds sat out this season as a true freshmen. However, because of NCAA transfer rules it is unlikely Ferns will be able to play for the Mountaineers in the 2015 season.
Confirmed from a source that Michigan LB Michael Ferns requested his release yesterday and plans to transfer to West Virginia.
