As first reported by FootballScoop.com Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads was fired yesterday after the Cyclones blew a 35-14 lead against Kansas State.

Rhoads spent 7 seasons at Iowa State and beat the Mountaineers just once in his tenure in Ames. West Virginia lost to Iowa State at home in 2013 52-44.

The Mountaineers will again be favored at home this weekend against the 3-8 Cyclones who are on a 3 game losing streak.

The game will be at noon eastern and will be televised on FS1.

UPDATED: According to Brett McMurphy of ESPN Paul Rhoads will still coach the Cyclones this Saturday against WVU despite being fired earlier today.
