After injuries to the Calgary’s top two running backs, Jock Sanders carried the load out of the backfield, carrying 16 times for 86 yards and catching a pass for seven yards in a Stampeders win.  In addition he continued his special teams duties, returning three kicks for 63 yards and three punts for 19 yards.

Pat White and the Edmonton Eskimos were on the other side of the field from Sanders, and it was a big day for him as well.  He carried just once for one yard, but scored his first professional touchdown.  The play prior, he shoul have thrown his first touchdown, but it was dropped.   On the season, White has carried seven times for 12 yards with the lone touchdown and also a special teams tackle.

After a solid debut in Week 4 for Toronto, Steve Slaton did not play last week for the Argos.  He is nursing a hand injury and no word on his status for tonight’s game against Montreal.

There are just two games this weekend where former Mountaineers take the field and both are tonight.  Toronto (Slaton) is at Montreal at 7pm and BC is at Calgary (Sanders) at 10pm.
