Senior Chase Harler starts Senior Night with proposal

Morgantown, W. Va. – Saturday’s Senior Day in Morgantown thankfully took place in the month of March, not February, and that wasn’t the only thing to be thankful for. Senior Chase Harler took to the court to celebrate his Senior Day with a special surprise.

Harler proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Lindsay Brooks, prior to the game. Harler and Brooks have been together since the eighth grade and instantly had a reason to celebrate before the game event tipped off.

The Mountaineers managed to send their three seniors out in style, upsetting fourth-ranked Baylor and storming the court; but the declaration of love before the game truly capped off a special day in Morgantown.

Head Coach Bob Huggins was asked about whether he hesitated to allow his senior to propose to his girlfriend prior to the game, “Not at all. They’ve been seeing each other since like fourth grade or something.”

The Mountaineers are now the six-seed in this week’s Big 12 Conference Tournament in Kansas City, Missouri, facing the Oklahoma Sooners Thursday evening at 9:00 CST/8:00 EST.
