Seven Big 12 Teams Set for Bowl Game

The Big 12 will place 70 percent of teams in bowl games for the first time since 2018 and has seven bowl squads for the 18th season out of the last 23. No. 7 Baylor and No. 9 Oklahoma State will play in CFP New Year’s Six Bowls to give the Big 12 two teams in the postseason structure for the sixth occasion in its eight years.

Big 12 bowl season kicks off on December 28 with two matchups. Texas Tech will face Mississippi State in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl while West Virginia plays Minnesota in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl. The following day features another double-header with Iowa State squaring off against Clemson in the Cheez-It Bowl while No. 16 Oklahoma takes on No. 14 Oregon in the Valero Alamo Bowl. The New Year rings in with No. 9 Oklahoma State and No. 5 Notre Dame in the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl along with No. 7 Baylor and No. 8 Ole Miss in the Allstate Sugar Bowl. The Big 12 wraps up the season on January 4 with K-State matching up against LSU in the TaxAct Texas Bowl.

Last season, the Big 12 was the only autonomy conference to go undefeated in bowl games.
