The Philadelphia Eagles didn’t have a lot of draft picks this year due to their big trade for Carson Wentz but they have used one of their limited picks on WVU RB Wendell Smallwood with the 153rd pick of this year’s draft.

Smallwood, who left WVU a season early, was the Big 12 leading rusher this past season and was ranked as a Top 5 running back in this class due to the ability to play multiple positions on offense. Smallwood can play in the I-Formation running attack but can also split out as a WR and be a very effective option in the passing game.

With the Eagles trading DeMarco Murray earlier in the offseason, Smallwood will get the chance to play this season behind Ryan Matthews and Darren Sproles.
