One of the top prospects in the 2016 recruiting cycle is Franklin High School (MD) athlete Steven Smothers.FBH WESTMINSTER FRANKLIN MPSSAA CLASS 3A NORTH REGION SEMIFINAL

Smothers, 5-foot-10 and 155 pounds is no stranger to West Virginia. With multiple visits already in his pocket, Smothers will once again make the trip over to Morgantown this weekend for Junior Day.

While he admits he’s taking his time with his recruitment, Smothers isn’t shy about his feelings for the Mountaineers.

“No doubt,” Smothers said. ” I’m feeling good about West Virgina. They’ve been my number one for a year now.”

West Virginia will need to fight off some of the top programs in the country to gain Smothers services. Some of those schools include Alabama, Ohio State, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee and Michigan to name a few.

Smothers is rated a 4-star prospect.
