Sources: Oliver Luck Hired by Big 12 as a Consultant

According to Matt Mosley, Oliver Luck has been hired by the Big 12 as a consultant.

Luck previously served as the Athletic Director of West Virginia University, the CEO and Commissioner of the XFL, the first General Manager and team president of the Houston Dynamo, as well as previously serving as an executive for the NCAA.

Luck has been very successful in his previous tenures. Luck, successfully transitioned West Virginia University from the Big East to the Big 12, and got the XFL up and running, until it was forced to be shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This hire comes at a time of great uncertainty for the Big 12 Conference. Recently, reports stated that the ACC, Big 10, and Pac-12 were ongoing talks of a possible alliance, after Texas and Oklahoma agreed to join the SEC.

The addition of Luck could mean that the Big 12 will be making some move in the near future, with Luck having a background in television deals as well as understanding the collegiate sports landscape.
