MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (October 26, 2020) – Following her game-winning goal on Oct. 23, at Oklahoma, junior forward Alina Stahl of the West Virginia University women’s soccer team has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
Stahl helped the Mountaineers to a 1-0 win over the Sooners when she found the back of the net in the 20th minute last Friday night at John Crain Field in Norman, Oklahoma. The tally marked her third goal of the season and first game-winner of 2020. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, native has scored goals in back-to-back contests and leads the squad with 13 career goals. The win marked WVU’s fourth in a row.
Stahl is tied for No. 2 in the Big 12 in goals (3) and sits No. 3 in the conference with seven total points.
This Week in Women’s Soccer: West Virginia returns to Morgantown for its final home match of the fall against Kansas on Friday, Oct. 30, at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium … kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET … the contest is a Pink Match in support of breast cancer awareness month.
