Steve Slaton may be on to new adventures in Houston, but he will always have a place in his heart for West Virginia.

Slaton partnered with Anthony Lewis & the Sugar Bowl Foundation for a fundraiser during the WVU/Texas game this past Saturday.

The event was hosted at Buffalo Wild Wings outside of Charleston, WV. where Mountaineer fans game together to eat, cheer on the ‘Eers, and visit with Slaton.

The Sugar Bowl Foundation supports the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia, whose mission is to promote the well being of children through protecting, nurturing, and helping them find life-time families.

The proceeds from this event are going towards the Foundation’s ‘Christmas Visit’ to the Children’s Home. During this annual visit, they focus on the ‘older kids’, who often get left out of programs aimed at young children. They donate gadgets and electronics that older children and teenagers will enjoy.

Slaton was honored to be a part of this event.

“What the Foundation is doing is really cool, and it was fun to help out and hang with some great Mountaineer fans,” he said.
