Former West Virginia standout Tavon Austin is heading to San Francisco with wideout J.J. Nelson.

With the 49ers’ receivers being relatively inexperienced, Austin and Nelson add some veteran leadership with 12 years combined experience.
Austin was the eighth-overall pick by the Rams in the 2013 NFL Draft.
The 30-year old brings versatility in several areas of play. He has performed as a receiver, rusher and a kick returner. In his first seven years in the league. Austin tallied 3,346 scrimmage yards and 25 total touchdowns.
