3 star athlete Dorian Banks committed to the University of Tennessee in February of 2014 and has been a solid verbal to the Vols ever since. However, despite his commitment to Tennessee Dorian has kept in touch with WVU running backs coach Jajuan Seider.
Just recently Banks contacted Seider about coming to take his first visit to WVU this coming summer. “I’ll be up there June 14th for a one day camp”, Banks said, “I like their style of offense and the way they get their backs the ball in space”.
Banks also said that although he is solid to UT he is not opposed to hearing what other schools have to offer. He was particularly interested in what Coach Seider liked about him, “He likes what I can do with the ball and my ability to make plays. He says I have great speed and quickness”.
While Banks does not currently hold an offer from WVU the possibility of an offer does have him intrigued. When asked whether an offer from the Mountaineers could change things he stated, “(It’s) too early to say considering I haven’t taken a visit or met the coaching staff but I’m pretty solid with my commitment. But I will keep things pretty open”.
Banks will be an interesting recruit to watch come June. Whether or not a WVU offer will be presented or if the 5’8″ 158 lb athlete will consider an offer is still yet to be determined. One thing is certain, he is interested enough make the trip.
Banks is rated a 3* athlete in the 2016 class and also holds offers from Kentucky and Middle Tennessee State.
