The Dugout Report: Mountaineers in the MiLB and the MLB

This week in the Dugout Report, we take a look at the Mountaineers who are either in the MiLB or the MLB and see how they are faring so far into their seasons.

Bobby Boyd – Lancaster Jethawks, Single A Advanced (Astros)

In a three-game series with Inland Empire, Boyd saw action twice on 6/2 going 1-5 and having 1 run, and then on 6/3 going 1-3 with one run and one RBI. Later in the week in a 3 game series at home against Modesto, Boyd saw action twice again on 6/5 going 2-2 with 5 runs and a home run, then on 6/7 going 1-4.

Harrison Musgraves – Albuquerque Isotopes, Triple A (Rockies)

Musgraves pitched once in a 4 game road trip to Sacramento. Pitching on 6/6, Musgraves pitched 6.1 innings and allowed 9 hits and had an ERA of 4.81

John Means – Bowie Baysox, Double A (Orioles)

Means pitched twice in the week, once on 6/2 in a series in versus Richmond where he pitched 6 innings where he fanned 2, allowed 10 hits and 3 runs. Later in the week Means pitched against Portland for 7 innings and allowed 4 hits and one run and fanned 1.

Corey Walter – Midland Rockhounds, Double A (Athletics)

Walter pitched once this week on 6/4 against Tulsa for 4 innings allowing 6 hits and 1 run while striking out 1 as well.

Ryan McBroom – Dunden Blue Jays, Single A Advanced (BlueJays)

McBroom saw the field 5 times this week. In a 4 game series in Palm Beach, McBroom played 3 times. On 6/3, McBroom going 0-4, 6/4 going 0-3, and on 6/5 going 1-4 with one run. In a series vs St. Lucie, McBroom saw action twice on 6/8 going 2-4 with 1 run, and then on 6/9 going 2-4 with 1 run as well.

David Carpenter – Salt Lake Bees, Triple A (Angles)
Carpenter saw action twice this week both in a series in Reno. On 6/5, Carpenter pitched 1 inning and allowed 1 hit and struck out 2 batters. On 6/7, Carpenter had a rough outing pitching 0.1 innings allowing 4 hits and 4 runs while striking out no batters.

Jedd Gyorko – St. Louis Cardinals 

Gyorko played 4 games this week. In a series versus the San Francisco Giants, Gyorko on 6/3 went 0-1 and on 6/5 went 1-1. Two days later, Gyorko and the Cardinals traveled to Cincinnati to face the Reds where Gyorko saw action twice. On 6/7, Gyorko went 1-2 and had 1 run while on 6/9 went 0-4
