Third WVU Assistant Departs Program

Only days after JaJuan Seider left WVU for Florida, WVU cornerbacks coach Blue Adams has left WVU to join Charlie Strong at USF. Strong, formerly the head coach of the Texas Longhorns, became the new HC at South Florida this past December.

Reports surfaced on Saturday that the beloved secondary coach was leaving but were led to be false.

According to Charleston Gazette-Mail writer Mike Casazza, Adams’ departure is eminent, leaving another vacancy for head coach Dana Holgorsen to fill.

Adams came to WVU last season to replace the departed Brian Mitchell who left WVU for Virginia Tech. He was praised for coaching an inexperienced WVU secondary led by Rasul Douglas this past season.

Adams makes the third coach to depart the program since the end of the season. Offensive line coach Ron Crook departed for Cincinnati, Seider to Florida, and now Adams to USF.
