2016 4 star wide receiver Steven Smothers announced his top 6 schools this afternoon via Twitter and the Mountaineers still hold the top spot with the 5’10 speedster.

From Reisterstown, MD, Smothers has been a top priority for WVU WR Coach Lonnie Galloway. The relationship the two have developed has not been lost on Smothers who put WVU at the top of his short list today placing WVU in front of Penn State, Rutgers, Nebraska, Ohio State, and Illinois.

When asked why WVU remained atop his list Smothers answered, “…being so comfortable with them , really feels like home when I visit all the time .. The fans , the coaches everything !”

Smothers is being recruited as a receiver who would probably see significant playing time at the slot early. Steven told BGS that he plans on taking one final visit to Nebraska in July before making his final decision on August 1st. You can see Smothers complete offer list here.
