Wendell Smallwood gets drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles

Smallwood doesn’t have far to travel to his first job in the NFL.

The Philadelphia Eagles selected the agile Smallwood in the 5th round with the 153rd overall pick.

Smallwood caught NFL-types’ attention at the combine when he was a top performer in the 3-Cone Drill and 60-yard Shuttle.

The NFL’s draft analyst Mike Mayock described Smallwood as a “shifty, third down change-of-pace guy. He’s a nice compliment to Ryan Matthews. Catches the football exceptionally well. Makes defenders miss in open space.”

We will have more on how Smallwood fits in with his new team in the coming days.
