West Virginia football added Colorado State transfer tight end Brian Polendey, head coach Neal Brown announced on Monday afternoon.
Polendey is a 6-foot-5, 260-pound tight end who will be transferring to West Virginia as a graduate transfer and has one year of eligibility remaining. Polendey spent his last two seasons at Colorado State and the three years prior he was at Miami.
From 2016-2019 Polendey attended Miami where he appeared in 14 career games. His sophomore season was cut short due to a season-ending injury and then played in six games his junior year before transferring to Colorado State.
Last season as a redshirt-junior, Polendey started all four games and served mostly in a blocking role. This season, he appeared in 11 games, again serving as a blocking tight end.
Polendey adds depth up front and the ability for better run blocking on the edge, things West Virginia struggled with at the tight end position this season.
