West Virginia Climbs Two Spots in AP Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Feb. 8, 2021) – The West Virginia University women’s basketball team (15-2, 9-2 Big 12) moved up two spots to No. 19 in the latest Associated Press Top-25 Poll, announced Monday.

The Mountaineers received 229 points to rank No. 19 this week. West Virginia is ranked behind No. 18 Arkansas and in front of No. 20 Kentucky. WVU last appeared in the AP Top 20 a season ago, when the team ranked No. 17 on Jan. 13, 2020.

West Virginia is one of two Big 12 teams featured in today’s poll. Baylor (14-2, 9-1 Big 12) received 561 points and moves up to No. 7 this week.

Next up, West Virginia welcomes Kansas to Morgantown, on Wednesday, Feb. 10.
