West Virginia Gets Another Transfer in Pauly Paulicap

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – (April 21, 2021) — The West Virginia men’s basketball team received a commitment from transfer Pauly Paulicap on Wednesday afternoon.

Paulicap announced his commitment to WVU on his Twitter.

Paulicap was down to Rutgers and West Virginia as his final two destination spots. Paulicap—an Elmont, New York native—spent three years at Manhattan before transferring to DePaul.

In the 2020-21 season at DePaul, Paulicap averaged 7.2 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.3 blocks.

Paulicap would be the final scholarship player for the 2021-22 West Virginia men’s basketball team even if Taz Sherman, Sean McNeil, Miles McBride and Derek Culver all return. Sherman and Gabe Osabuohien will not count as scholarship players.

Paulicap will have one year of eligibility and will be immediately able to suit up for the Mountaineers in 2021-22.
