West Virginia Lands Florida International Transfer

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – (April 5, 2021) — The West Virginia men’s basketball program added a player for the 2021-22 season on Monday afternoon.

Dimon Carrigan is a grad transfer from Florida International who announced his commitment to WVU on Twitter.

In his second season at FIU, Carrigan averaged 6.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.5 blocks. The 6-foot-9 forward recorded six blocks in a game, twice.

Carrigan is immediately eligible to play for West Virginia, starting next season. Carrigan has two years of eligibility left in his collegiate career.

WVU head coach Bob Huggins has one scholarship remaining now with the departures of Jordan McCabe and Emmitt Matthews Jr. The number could go up if Sean McNeil and Miles McBride stay in the NBA draft.
