West Virginia receives 52 votes in AP Poll

In the Associated Press’ weekly top 25 poll, West Virginia men’s basketball received 52 votes, which ranks 28th in the country.

The Mountaineers (11-1) had only one game this week, beating Youngstown State 82-52. West Virginia scored only 24 points in the first half, but shot 72% from the field in the second half, leading them to the 30-point victory.

West Virginia was ranked 28th in the country last week after receiving 57 votes.

The Big 12 currently has five teams in the Top 25: Baylor, Kansas, Iowa State, Texas and Texas Tech. Two other teams: Oklahoma and West Virginia, were ranked 26th and 27th in the country based on the number of votes received.
