West Virginia University Athletics Introduces Reimagined Game Day Experience

MORGANTOWN, WV (April 15, 2021) – The rich tailgating tradition at West Virginia is preparing for a return this fall through a new partnership between West Virginia University Athletics and Tailgate Guys, a REVELXP company that is reimagining game day and redefining non-game day experiences.

“In preparing to welcome fans back inside our facilities this Fall, we want to build a unique and immersive experience that makes attending Mountaineer games even more special,” Matt Wells, WVU Senior Associate Athletics Director said. “Partnering with Tailgate Guys will create a premium and seamless tailgating experience before and after the game that will offer West Virginia fans enhanced and unrivaled service at their fingertips.”

Tailgate Guys will offer Mountaineer alumni and fans a reserved tailgate in a premium location adjacent to the northwest gate of Milan Puskar Stadium. Each tailgate has the capacity to service groups as small as five guests to larger scale events for corporate hospitality. Packages will include turnkey setup and breakdown, game day bellhop services, WVU branded high peak tents, TV media packages and local catering options with options for additional customization.

WVU Athletics and Tailgate Guys will work with local, state and University health officials on appropriate health and safety protocols throughout the 2021 football season. Fans who reserve premium tailgating packages will be responsible for following the appropriate protocols.

REVELXP, the parent company of Tailgate Guys, was formed late last year and combines the capabilities of Colonnade Group, PRE and Complex Sports. The company works closely with university partners, as well as professional leagues, teams and properties to maximize the game day experience and drive incremental revenue for facilities on non-game days.

“West Virginia is an iconic college sports brand that helps bolster our growing Big 12 footprint and further strengthens Tailgate Guys and the REVELXP presence in the conference,” Ray DeWeese, CEO of REVELXP said. “We’re excited to bring our unique brand of services to Morgantown this football season, especially as fans eagerly await a return to Milan Puskar Stadium and get back into cheering on their favorite team and being with fellow fans in-person.”

West Virginia joins Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas and TCU as Big 12 partners for Tailgate Guys and REVELXP.
