West Virginia’s Darius Stills is Big 12 Preseason Defensive Player of the Year

Mountaineer senior defensive lineman Darius Stills was named this year’s Big 12 Preseason Defensive Player of the Year by the Big 12 media ahead of the 2020 football season.

Stills is a force on the football field and had countless outstanding performance’s over the past few seasons at West Virginia.

Stills is a native of Fairmont, West Virginia and was also named to the Big 12 14-player preseason defensive team for the conference.

Stills follows Mountaineers Geno Smith and Will Grier in earning spots on the Big 12 media preseason polls.

The senior is a force to be reckoned with, and also has a great sense of humor. During the Baylor game last season, the lineman allegedly told a reporter on the sideline to report that Baylor was “weak upfront” and then proceeded to get three sacks immediately after.

Stills is the older brother of defensive duo Darius and Dante, look for little brother Dante to step up big time this fall as he may want to fulfill the motto of “anything you can do, I can do better.”
