After beating No. 8 Kansas State on Wednesday night, No. 9 West Virginia will face No. 1 Kansas this afternoon in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Tournament.

Previous Matchups
This is the third matchup between these two teams this season, with Kansas winning both previous matchups. Kansas led by only two points at halftime of the first meeting between these two teams, before pulling away to a 85-59 victory. In the second meeting between these teams, West Virginia hung around, but Kansas pulled away late, winning, 71-58.

Kansas is a 10-point favorite against West Virginia.

Players to Watch For:
WVU: Sean McNeil — West Virginia’s Sean McNeil had a bounce back game against Kansas State, scoring 21 points, 15 in the first half, and helping lead WVU when their leading scorer Taz Sherman was held to only nine points.
KANSAS: David McCormack — McCormack has gone off in the two meeting between these teams this season, and scored 19 points in both meetings against the Mountaineers. West Virginia does not have the size on the inside, and McCormack should control the paint this afternoon.
