Winston Wright entering transfer portal

West Virginia wide receiver Winston Wright Jr. has entered his name in the transfer portal he announced on twitter on Friday.

In the tweet Wright said, “these past three years have been the best moments of my life.” Wright then added, “to the fans, I appreciate the unconditional support through the good times but also the bad, I love y’all. With that being said I will be entering my name in the transfer portal”

This season, Wright served as West Virginia’s kickoff return specialist and as a wide receiver. Wright had 688 receiving yards and 618 kickoff return yards. Wright had six combined touchdowns on the season. Wright led the team in catches and yards, while being tied for the team lead in touchdowns.

Earlier in the week, Wright tweeted a cryptic tweet that read”it’s been a pleasure, love y’all boys.”

This is a huge hit to West Virginia’s offense for next season, and hopefully is not the beginning of a trend of Mountaineers transferring.
