MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (November 11, 2014) – West Virginia University women’s basketball announced its promotional schedule for the 2014-15 season.
Saturday, November 15 is the season opener for the Mountaineers when WVU welcomes Eastern Kentucky to the Coliseum for the first round of the Preseason WNIT. The 2014-15 team poster will be given away. Carey’s Crew members can also pickup their complimentary t-shirt.
On Wednesday, Nov. 26, the Mountaineers welcome Evansville for a 7 p.m. contest. It is ‘Feed a Family’ night as WVU will conduct a food drive. – Any fan that brings a non-perishable food item for donation to the Blue Gate will receive a coupon for a hot dog at the concession stand (limit two per person). Popcorn will also be just $1 each that night. Kids can bring a completed Musket coloring sheet for free admission by downloading it at WVUsports.com.
Carey’s Crew Appreciation Day is Saturday, December 6 at 4 p.m. versus Coppin State. Members of the Carey’s Crew are invited to a pizza party, can get autographs from their favorite Mountaineer women’s basketball players following the game and have the opportunity to take their photo with Santa. The Mountaineers will have four United Bank Dollar Days where fans can enter the game for $1. The United Bank Dollar Days are set for Sunday, Dec. 10 vs. Duquesne at 7 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 1 against Oklahoma at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 10 against Kansas State at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 1 against Texas.
In addition to $1 admission provided by United Bank, fans can also participate in Super Hero Day against Oklahoma. Children are encouraged to come dressed in a super hero costume or representing their favorite super hero.
On Saturday, January 10, the Mountaineers welcome Baylor for Family Day – purchase four tickets, four hot dogs, four Cokes and one popcorn for just $25 at WVUGAME.com and 1-800-WVU GAME. Family Day packages must be purchased in advance and are not available on gameday. The game is also a Gold Rush – all fans are encouraged to wear gold. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. On Wednesday, Jan. 14, WVU will host Texas Tech at 7 p.m. Fans will be able to print off a free coupon for popcorn via the team’s social media pages.
There will be two Faculty-Staff Nights set for Wednesday, January 21 versus Kansas State and Wednesday, February 18 against Oklahoma State. Both games start at 7 p.m.
The much anticipated Play 4Kay game will be on Saturday, Feb. 21 against Iowa State at Noon. The women’s basketball team will sport pink uniforms and fans are encouraged to “Pack the House” and wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness. WVU women’s basketball alumni will also be in town that weekend.
West Virginia closes out the season against Texas on March 1. In addition to United Bank $1 admission, it is also Senior Day and Fan Appreciation Day.
