WVU 12 Days of Christmas: Days Six and Seven

On the sixth and seventh day of Christmas, what will West Virginia give to me?

Over the next 12 days, we will be making a West Virginia themed 12 days of Christmas in regard to West Virginia sports.

On the sixth day of Christmas West Virginia gave to me, six home wins to make history.

This past season was historic for the West Virginia volleyball team. The Mountaineers finished the year by making their first ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament. West Virginia had six wins at home this year, helping them finish with 19, and make history. Although the Mountaineers lost in the first round, having the kind of success they did is nothing short of remarkable.

On the seventh day of Christmas West Virginia gave to me, memories of Will Grier.

In the 2017 and 2018 seasons, West Virginia was the best it had been in a long time and one of the main reasons for that was Grier. Grier quarterbacked the Mountaineers for two straight seasons and led them to the cusp of making the Big 12 Championship in 2018. Grier finished 4th in Heisman voting in 2018 and in 19 of his 22 games played, he had more than 300 passing yards which was a school record. Currently, Grier is on the Dallas Cowboys roster.
