The Associated Press released their preseason Top 25 basketball poll Monday morning. The Mountaineers debuted at No. 20 in the poll behind only N0. 3 Kansas in the Big 12. Texas and Iowa State were the only other Big 12 schools to receive enough votes to make the preseason top 25.

The Mountaineers finished last season with a 26-9 overall record and 13-5 in the Big 12 Conference.
