MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (May 16, 2016) – West Virginia University football coach Dana Holgorsen has announced that redshirt sophomore running back Donte Thomas-Williams has been dismissed from the football program for a violation of team rules.

Thomas-Williams played in four games as a redshirt freshman, rushing 14 times for 43 yards with a long carry of 12 yards against Maryland.

Holgorsen will have no additional comment.

Additional info: Head coach Dana Holgorsen announced in early April that Thomas-Williams had been suspended from spring practice due to conduct detrimental to the team. And while Holgorsen was confident the other three players suspended (Lambert, Jefferson, and Durante) would return for the fall season there was doubt left as to whether Thomas-Williams would rejoin the team.

Thomas-Williams was a highly recruited 4 star tailback out of North Carolina and was part of the 2014 WVU recruiting class.
