Jalen Bridges announced on September 2, 2019 that he committed to West Virginia University’s basketball program. Bridges scheduled to take five official visits this upcoming month to Alabama, Xavier, Miami, and Indiana, but cut his recruitment process short after he visited WVU this past weekend.
Bridges played high school basketball at Fairmont Senior High School, where he helped lead them to four consecutive state championship games. During his senior season, Bridges averaged 22.2 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Along with his remarkable numbers, the 6’7” versatile forward won the Bill Evans Award, which is an annual award given to the state’s top player.
On Twitter, Bridges said he plans to enroll during the 2019-20 academic year. He’s most likely going to red-shirt this year and begin his basketball career at WVU during the 2020-21 season.
Now that Bridges has committed, WVU has filled their recruiting class for this year.
