Shepherd quarterback Tyson Bagent who won the Harlon Hill award this past season as the best player in Division II football has entered the transfer portal and sources can confirm West Virginia is interested in Bagent.
The 6-foot-3, 215 pound quarterback passed for 5,000 yards and threw for 53 touchdowns, while only throwing 13 interceptions in 15 games this season. Bagent, a native of Martinsburg, West Virginia, has one year of eligibility remaining.
West Virginia has been looking to use the transfer portal to possibly acquire a quarterback, and the Mountaineers are certainly interested in Bagent, and Bagent would fit WVU’s needs.
