West Virginia hasn’t played the Pitt Panthers for a few seasons but they are still battling it out in the recruiting world with the Mountaineers claiming a victory this evening when former Pitt commit Exree Loe committed to WVU over Maryland.

Loe, a 6’0 195 lbs. cornerback from Greater Johnstown (PA), continues the Mountaineers rebuild of what will be a very depleted secondary after this season. Loe will join current commits Alex Woods, DeAmonte King, Eugene Brown, Collin Smith, Chris Hunt, and Ricky Johns has defensive back commits in the 2017 class for WVU.

Loe was originally committed to Pitt but the two parties decided to split when Loe took a visit to Rutgers. WVU kept in touch with Loe and all that hard work panned out with today’s news that Loe would be a Mountaineer.

“They all just make me feel at home anytime that I visit here, great coaches and good people.” There was one specific coach that caught Loe’s attention during his visits. “Tony Gibson is a good guy and a great coach that is full of energy all the time.” Don’t look for Loe to stick at just cornerback though in the Mountaineers 3-3-5 scheme. “Coach Gibson plans to use me all around his defense.”
