WVU Makes Late Push for 2015 Running Back

T.J. Simmons, a 3 star RB out of Lakeland, FL announced today via Twitter that he had received an offer from WVU. This makes the 38th offer the start running back has received. What is interesting is that Simmons has been committed to UCLA since June 30th of this year and that commitment has been strong. Whether something has changed or WVU merely feels they can sway the highly sought after RB is yet to be known.

So why get into the game so late? Chris Anderson of tells BGS that one reason is to try to get Simmons on campus. T.J. has made it known that despite his commitment to UCLA that he will continue to make official visits in January leading up to national signing day.

This could also mean that WVU feels they are going to lose out on potential targets in the 2015 class. One of those targets may be Nyheim Hines who plans on making his announcement before visiting WVU in January. Look for WVU to do everything they can to get Simmons on campus after the dead period.
