Where Does WVU Stand With 2017 Running Back?

Anthony McFarland Jr., who just finished up his sophomore season at DeMatha High School in Hyattsviile, MD, is starting to see his recruiting status pick up. The talented 4 star RB, who holds offers from the likes of Florida State, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, and Wisconsin, recently received a visit from someone he didn’t expect. WVU WR coach Lonnie Galloway.

Galloway stopped by to see McFarland while he was out during the open recruiting period. During the visit WVU became McFarland’s 15th college offer. Galloway stated that WVU is making McFarland a priority for the 2017 class and wants the running back to visit WVU in the near future. McFarland has since stated that he is very interested in WVU and plans to visit soon.

McFarland was recently listed as an honorable mention for the annual All-Met team presented by the Washington Post. Much like an all-state award the All-Met team is comprised of the best high school football athletes in the Washington, DC area.
