After becoming bowl eligible by beating Kansas in the final game of the regular season, West Virginia is going bowling. The Mountaineers are set to play Minnesota in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl in Phoenix, Arizona on Dec. 28.
West Virginia started off the season 2-4, but won four of their final six games to get that important sixth win. This is the second straight year West Virginia is going to play in a bowl game, with last year the Mountaineers beating Army 24-21 in the Liberty Bowl.
Head coach Neal Brown has made a bowl appearance in two of his three seasons at West Virginia, and this will be the Mountaineers eight bowl appearance since joining the Big 12 in 2012.
