WVU Wins Game 3 13-4 Sweeps Series

After another double digit run performance, the WVU baseball team sweeps the weekend series from ETSU. After the 3 victory weekend, the Mountaineers regain a winning record on the season, now 7-6.

Chad Donato (2-2)  was dominate again, going 7 innings allowing i run and 7 hits while striking out 5 Buccaneer batters. Donato lowers his ERA on the season from 1.50 to 1.44. Relievers Jeff Hardy, Nick Wernke, Blake Smith, and Josh Bornstein made appearances for the Mountaineers.

Outfielders Shaun Wood and KC Huth homered in the games for WVU, Wood finished with 5 RBIs Huth with 2. Brad Johnson, Kyle Davis, and Shaun Wood all had multiple hit games for WVU. The 13 hits in the game for the Mountaineers gave them a total of 49 hits in the Series. The only bad news offensively in the game was Taylor Munden going 0 for 6, ending his 12 game hitting streak.

Next up for the Mountaineers is a Tuesday afternoon match up against Liberty University, in Lynchburg, Virginia. The Flames are coming off a series loss this weekend against Kent State, winning 1 game and losing 2. Next weekend the Mountaineers travel to Texas, to play the 1st series of Big 12 conference play against the Longhorns.
