Recently, Mountaineers have found success when they take the mound in the major leagues. Michael Grove was able to add his name to that list on Sunday, picking up his first career win.

Grove, a pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, went up against the St. Louis Cardinals, pitching 5.0 innings, while allowing one run on three hits, while striking out three, in the Dodgers’ 4-1 victory.

This was Grove’s fifth start of the season, while he made his sixth appearance of the season.

This season, Grove has pitched 24.1 innings, giving up 17 runs on 26 hits, while walking eight batters and striking out 21.

Grove and the Dodgers were also able to clinch the No. 1 overall seed in the National League with the win on Sunday.
