WVU Women’s Soccer earns No. 4 seed in Big 12 Tournament

West Virginia women’s soccer concluded their regular season Thursday night with a 1-0 win over Kansas State. With that win, the Mountaineers clinched a 4-1-4 conference record and clinched the No. 4 seed in the Big 12 Tournament.

West Virginia will face No. 5 Oklahoma State in the first round of the tournament on Sunday.

The Mountaineers and Cowgirls finished in a 1-1 draw on Oct. 20, in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Texas earned the No. 1 seed and they will face No. 8 Kansas State. The winner of that game will face the winner of West Virginia and Oklahoma State.

On the other side of the bracket is No. 2 TCU versus No. 7 Kansas and No. 3 Texas Tech against No. 6 Oklahoma.

The Mountaineers had only one loss in conference play, a 2-1 defeat to the conference champion Longhorns.

The Big 12 Tournament is set to take place from Oct. 30 through Nov. 6. All games will be played at Round Rock Multipurpose Complex, in Round Rock, Texas. All matches will be televised on ESPN+, with the championship game being televised on ESPNU.

Since joining the Big 12, West Virginia has won the Big 12 Tournament three times (2013, 2014, 2016).
