West Virginia redshirt-freshman running back Markquan Rucker is entering his name into the transfer portal.

The Middlebourne, West Virginia, native was in a crowded backfield this season featuring CJ Donaldson, Tony Mathis, and Jaylen Anderson.

Rucker played in seven games over the past two seasons, rushing for six yards on two attempts, and not finding the field too often.

“First of all, I would like to thank Coach Brown, Coach Scott, and the rest of the WVU football staff for the opportunity they have given me to play WVU football,” Rucker said on Twitter. “I will always be a Mountaineer at heart, but I am looking at what is best for me in the next chapter of my career.”

Rucker joins JT Daniels, Will Crowder, and Reese Smith Amon other Mountaineers who have entered the transfer portal.
