Former Mountaineer and newly official Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla coached in the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday night. Mazzulla coached Team Giannis which was led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, the captain of the team.
Team Giannis beat Team LeBron 184-175. Celtics star Jayson Tatum was on Team Giannis, registering 55 points, and was named the MVP of the All-Star Game.
Mazzulla’s Celtics currently have the best record in the NBA, leading him to be selected as one of the two coaches.
The Celtics will begin their post-All-Star Game stretch on Thursday against the Indiana Pacers.
Prior to the game, Mazzulla gave a speech to his team about building their platform and how he hopes people see players outside of just their abilities on the court.
