New West Virginia women’s basketball head coach Mark Kellogg continues to build his coaching staff and his roster. This time he has added an experienced guard in Lauren Fields.

“Lauren is a two-way player that adds Big 12 experience to our roster,” Kellogg said. “She has played and produced in big-time games throughout her career.”

Fields will be a fifth-year senior, playing three years at Oklahoma State, before spending one season at Arizona.

“Lauren will thrive in our offensive system and be an elite defender on that end of the court,” Kellogg said. “She comes from a great family with a tremendous work ethic that matches our expectations. We are pleased to welcome Lauren to WVU.”

Fields is listed at 5-foot-9, and has started 96 of 115 games played in her career.

Her junior season at Oklahoma State was the best of her career. She averaged 15.4 points per game and had 67 total steals on the year. This past season at Arizona, Fields had the seventh-most steals in the Pac-12, and averaged 4.5 points per game.

She averaged 24 minutes per game this past season, after playing 34.6 minutes per game her junior year at Oklahoma State.
