Mazzulla and McBride Trying to Keep Their Championship Dreams Alive

Former Mountaineers Miles McBride and Joe Mazzulla find themselves having to win out the remainder of their playoff series if they want to advance to the conference finals. Mazzulla’s road is a lot less difficult being down three games to two instead of three games to one like McBride, but both will need some breaks to go their way.

Miles “Deuce” McBride and the 5-seeded New York Knicks find themselves on the brink of elimination against the Miami Heat. The Knicks are currently down 3-1 in the series, meaning one more loss is the end of their season. McBride has appeared in just two games this series, averaging 2.5 minutes in those games. The next game in this series is on Wednesday at 7:30.

Joe Mazzulla and his 2-seeded Boston Celtics find themselves in a very similar situation, being down 3-2 to the Philadelphia 76ers. The Celtics lost game 1, then won the next two games before dropping the next two. The most recent game in this series took place yesterday, with the 76ers coming away with a 115-103 win. Mazzulla and the Celtics next game is Thursday at 7:30.
